NS5383 Subject: Diabetes Education Professional Practice
The final Subject (NS5383 - Diabetes Education Professional Practice) of the Graduate Certificate of Diabetes Education includes 40-hours of self-placement. This will take place between 4th November and 13th December.
Students are required to organize placement based on their primary discipline, interest in a community or hospital setting and opportunities available to them.

GCDE Clinical Placement dates are available in Study Period 2 /2024 from 4 November 2024 to 13 December 2024.
All GCDE students are required to complete and submit Clinical Placement Form and the following Pre-Placement Requirements (PPRs) prior to the submission deadline according to your course, as outlined below :
- Evidence of currency as a Registered Health Practitioner
Copy of your current AHPRA Registration
- аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Health Record and Immunisation Form
Following Queensland Health and аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø procedures, students who are enrolled in health courses must be fully immunised before commencing their professional experience placement. Section 3 Exposure Prone Procedures is not required.
- Tuberculosis (TB) Risk Assessment Form for Students
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
You are required to submit a valid CPR certificate from a registered training organisation.

- аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø WHS Module “Student Workplace Health and Safety, and Conduct Induction”
To access this module via LearnаÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø, select Organisations, and under the heading Essential, select Student Workplace Health and Safety, and Conduct Induction. The module has 8 parts to complete and a Declaration of Completion to be acknowledged. These modules will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. The Professional Experience Placement Team will be notified when you have completed the training.
